When the classroom reconstruction and renovation are complete, all learning spaces at SJND will have been renewed or newly constructed in the past seven years, making it a true 21st century college prep environment for our students.
The Smart Classrooms project began in 2010 with the renovation of the classrooms surrounding the Quad and the reconstruction of Notre Dame Hall. In 2007, the school opened the Anthony V. Aiello Science Center, complete with college-level laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment. The Kelly Gymnasium was also renovated that year, and SJND constructed a new music room and upgraded its library, with added computer research stations, in 2004.
SJND is located in a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood in the heart of Alameda, where the school was established in 1881 and has a proud tradition of educating students.
