The first annual Diocese of Oakland Science Fair for middle school students will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010, and will be hosted by Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School at the Anthony V. Aiello Science Center in Alameda.
Seventh and eighth grade students from over 40 Diocesan schools are invited to participate. Local college and university science educators will serve as judges for the competition. The winners will have the opportunity to compete in the San Francisco Bay Area Science Fair.
The Science Fair competition will include science exhibits and demonstrations throughout the afternoon for students, parents, and educators to enjoy. Lunch, in environmentally friendly "green" packaging, will be provided for all participants, and prizes will range from award medals and certificates to family field-trip opportunities.
