Applying to college can be streamlined if parents and students familiarize themselves with the process. Below are some resources for choosing a college.
College Visits to SJND
Throughout the year, representatives from many colleges and universities will visit the SJND campus to answer questions students have about their respective college and the admissions process. Students interested in attending these presentations should sign up on the bulletin board in the Counseling Department. With teacher approval, students will be excused from class to attend the college visit.
Summer Programs and Internships
Whether students are interested in a creative mathematical exploration program at Boston University or they are interested in pursuing an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, there are summer programs, jobs and internships that can help them shape their college searches. College Information Sessions
Representatives from many colleges and universities visit the Bay Area to host information sessions regularly, and they answer questions students and their families might have. The Counseling Department has information about these sessions, and students and their parents are encouraged to attend these events.
College Fairs
College Fairs are a great way to get information about colleges, and there are usually several in the Bay Area each year. For more information, students should see their counselors.
