This semester-long (5 unit) course is available to qualified students. In order to take this course, students must have passed Introduction to Physical Education.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to freshman students. There are no prerequisites associated with this course.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to sophomore and junior students. In order to take this course, students must have earned a 70% or higher in both semesters of any level of Geometry.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to all students. There are no prerequisites associated with this course.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to all students who have earned a minimum of a 70% in both semesters of ASL 1.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students.  Students who earn a 70% or higher in this course will earn an extra grade point toward their grade point average.  Students who take this course must submit a portfolio that meets the Advanced Placement requirements to the College Board in May. In order to be eligible to take this course, students must sign up on Schoology after attending the AP/Honors Information Session during collaboration, schedule a portfolio review meeting with the VAPA Chair, AND attend the mandatory AP Information Night in February. Students must have earned a minimum unweighted grade of B+ in the previous two year’s Visual Arts courses AND receive Instructor approval.

Students must have earned a 90% or higher in both semesters of Pre-Calculus or an 80% or higher in both semesters of Honors Pre-Calculus.

Students must have earned an 80% or higher in both semesters of AP Calculus AB, AND have earned a 3 or higher on the AP Calculus AB Exam.

This year-long (10 unit) course satisfies the senior English requirement for qualified students.  In order to be eligible to take this course, students must meet the criteria for AP/Honors course enrollment stated above. Students must have earned a 90% or higher in both semesters of English 11: The American Dream or an 85% or higher in both semesters of AP English Language and Composition and pass a placement test.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students.  In order to be eligible to take this course, students must meet the criteria for AP/Honors course enrollment stated above. Students must have earned an 85% or higher in H. Integrated Science 1 AND 2 OR a 90% or higher in Integrated Science 1 AND 2. 

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students. In order to be eligible to take this course, students must receive teacher approval (which includes a separate examination), AND have earned minimum grades in the previous year’s French course (90% or higher in each semester of French 3 or 80% or higher in each semester of Honors French 3).

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students. In order to be eligible to take this course, students must have earned an 85% or higher in both semesters of Honors Algebra 2/Trig or PreCalculus.

In order to be eligible to take this course, students must earn an 80% or higher in AP Seminar for this course.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students. In order to be eligible to take this course, students must meet the criteria for AP/Honors course enrollment stated above. Students must have earned a 90% or higher in both semesters of Honors Algebra 2/Trigonometry or 80% or higher in any level of Pre-Calculus.

This year-long (10 unit) course satisfies the senior graduation requirement for Social Studies. Eligibility is by a recommendation from a student’s United States History teacher AND an 80% in current social studies class (Semester 1 grade included).

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students and satisfies the junior Social Studies requirement.  Eligibility is by a recommendation from a student’s World History teacher AND 80% in current social studies class (Semester 1 grade included).

This semester-long (5 unit) or year-long (10 unit) pass/fail course is designated for members of the Campus Life Team. Students who are elected to ASB, CMEB or division CLT are strongly encouraged to take this course. Students may receive up to 15 units of Leadership Workshop.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students. In order to take this course, students must have earned a 70% or higher in Mandarin 2 or have demonstrated course eligibility on the Mandarin placement test (offered to incoming freshman students only).

This semester-long (5 unit) or year-long (10 unit) course is available to any junior or senior student who is otherwise not able to meet SJND graduation requirements with another course offered by SJND (as determined by the Dean of Academics).  Online courses must be taken through SJND-approved online providers.

This year-long (10 unit) course is available to qualified students.  In order to take this course, students must have completed Concert Band 1 or Concert Band 2 AND receive instructor approval.
