The admissions team invites 8th grade families and students to drop by our campus any Wednesday that works best for you!

The best way to get to know the Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School community is to be on our campus. Walk and talk with us as we tour the campus, stop by classrooms and answer your questions along the way. 

From the comfort of your own home, you are invited to join current SJND students on Zoom for Pilot Chat: Student Q&A.

Listen as students share their SJND high school experiences, and ask them questions about topics such as school community, athletics, leadership, academic workload, and more. Prospective students and parents are welcome to attend together.

SJND applicants to the ninth grade are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) administered by the Diocese of Oakland. 

This test is for 8th grade students only. All students are required to register for the HSPT. Students only have to take the test once. Registration will close at the end of day on Jan 8. Many local high schools do not accept walk-ins on the day of the test. 

Parents will receive a copy of their child's results via email on March 21, 2025 after 4:00 p.m. PST.

Middle school students and their families are invited to explore our historic Alameda campus, meet SJND administrators and faculty, connect with current students, and learn about our various programs and co-curriculars.

In the spirit of the holiday season, this Open House will feature a festive touch with cookies and cocoa. Plus, following the Open House, our annual Winter Festival of the Arts will take place in Kelly Gym from 6:30p.m. - 8:30p.m., offering families an exciting look into our vibrant Visual and Performing Arts program!

During these on-campus visits, 8th grade classes will spend the morning experiencing our SJND spirit, attending a sample class taught by one of our faculty, going on a tour of the campus, and attending a Q&A session with our students.

Meet special guests from the administration, faculty, current parents, and students, and dive into some frequently asked question topics. Finish off with a campus tour and see SJND in action! 

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) Prep Course at SJND is a comprehensive course that focuses on test-taking strategies, content review and practice. Familiarity with the test can help students when it is time to take the HSPT, which is required when applying to Catholic high schools. The results help determine which classes students will be placed in for high school, and may place them in consideration for scholarships. Students receive a prep book, instruction from SJND teachers and a pizza lunch.

Parents/guardians are invited to stay for the morning to meet SJND teachers and students. Student-led tours are available for parents interested in seeing the SJND campus.

Middle school students and parents/guardians have the opportunity to tour our historic Alameda campus, hear from SJND administrators, faculty and parents, meet students and check out our co-curriculars. At Open House this year students have the opportunity to decorate for spirit week, join our club carnival, participate in sports, jump into improv games, and experience our live theater and band!

Families may attend breakout sessions on tuition assistance, counseling and more, test out our STEAM equipment and learn about our Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, and Visual and Performing Arts pathways. This semester we are proud to introduce our dual enrollment program where students can receive both high school and college credit for specific courses taken at SJND.
