Admissions Process

Welcome to the new Common Intake Form. The goal is to make things easier for you! This form allows families to enter your information one time and then directs you to explore SJND as well as other Catholic high schools in the East Bay.

• Click the Common Intake Form and Create an Account. If you have applied to SJND before, you can use your existing login information.
• Under the primary school search area select "Catholic Schools of the East Bay."
• Complete the Student, Household and Parent information pages.
• You will now arrive on the "Explore Schools" page. 
• Learn about the different school profiles by clicking their profiles.

We are still accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year, but please contact our Director of Admissions prior to applying. Our application for Fall 2026 admission will open on September 1, 2025.

For Fall 2026: Application Due Date: January 7, 2026 ($115 application fee)

As part of the application, you must select a site to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

The HSPT is required of all SJND prospective students by the Diocese of Oakland.

*Please note: you must be an SJND applicant to take the HSPT on our campus.

Seventh and eighth grade transcripts and recommendations from your current school are due on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Recommendation forms may be filled out electronically through our application. Please forward your requests to your school officials. Students of families coming from a public school that do not use the forms may submit a letter.

Family interview sessions with one of our faculty or staff members will be scheduled after you have completed your application.

We will conduct the family interview in mid-January 2026. Sessions last 30 minutes — 15 minutes with the student and 15 minutes with the parents/guardians and student. These sessions will provide a great opportunity to learn more about a particular program, sport or academic subject that the student may be passionate about.

Letters of Decision and Financial Aid and Scholarship Awards are emailed on March 20 at 4:00p.m. Enrollment contracts must be completed within one week to secure your space in the incoming class.
