Head Coach: Wilmer Zavala

Soccer has been a major part of Coach Will’s life for as long as he can remember. He grew up playing competitively in the Bay Area—moving through club teams, high school, and eventually playing at the collegiate level, starting his season at Sacramento State. Like many young athletes, he once dreamed of playing professionally.
However, his playing career was cut short due to a torn ACL and meniscus—an injury that made it impossible to return to the level he once played, no matter how hard he worked. While that chapter closed, it led to a new passion: coaching.
Since then, Coach Will has dedicated himself to learning, adapting, and teaching modern training techniques with a strong focus on injury prevention. Having experienced firsthand how impactful injuries can be, he's made it his mission to help athletes train in ways that protect their bodies while still maximizing performance.
His coaching philosophy centers on two key pillars: injury prevention and sports psychology. He believes success on the field begins with a healthy body and a focused mind. He encourages his players to stay mentally sharp, practice good sportsmanship, and contribute to a positive, team-first culture.
Coach Will is excited to bring his knowledge and passion to SJND, and he’s committed to helping each of his players grow—both as athletes and individuals.
Assistant Coach: Glenn Crespo

Born and raised in San Francisco, Coach Glenn has been passionate about soccer his entire life. Once he started playing soccer at the age of five for his Catholic grammar school, it quickly became his whole life.
While playing the position of Striker for his high school at Saint Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco and Club America, Coach Glenn sustained three torn ACLs and numerous other injuries that cut his career short.
Although playing was no longer an option, Coach Glenn could not imagine his life without soccer. He decided the best way to stay in the soccer community was by coaching and sharing his passion and love for the game.
Since becoming a coach in the 90s, Glenn has prioritized player development and cultivating a safe space for individual growth and sportsmanship. SJND gives Coach Glenn the opportunity to use both his love for soccer, God and his Catholic Christian faith to help students become well-rounded young adults on and off the field.
