The SJND Miller Library and Study Center is a learning commons, a place for study, collaboration, research, and online accelerated learning from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Ms. Bickley, the Coordinator of Technology and Library Services, offers research skills sessions tailored to the curriculum, student tech support, and readers’ advisory for personal and academic reading. Students have 24/7 access to the Library’s online catalog to reserve print materials from the Library, view eBooks, and research 16 information-rich databases. Use your own laptop in Smart Classrooms, technology-rich environments that allow you to collaborate with teachers and fellow students using incredible tools. All classrooms have LCD projectors, and many have Smart Boards. The Study Center features surround sound and a wireless microphone for lectures, podcasting and audio projection. Science labs include state-of-the-art equipment and the entire campus has wireless access.
Bring Your Own Computer Program
Through the Bring Your Own Computer program, you will:
- Increase your collaborative work and engage in more complex problem solving and critical thinking
- Learn to use your devices as organizational tools to organize due dates, assignments and other engagements
- Develop advanced skills, comfort and confidence in the constructive use of technology
