Class of 2017 Achieves Outstanding College Outcomes

As our students become scientists, artists, humanitarians, entrepreneurs and more, they carry the knowledge, skills and life lessons they learned at SJND. Supported by expert faculty and an unparalleled team of academic counselors, the Class of 2017 has achieved remarkable success in their graduation outcomes:  

  • The UC Berkeley admit rate for the SJND Class of 2017 was 35%. Five students will attend this fall.
  • Anna Victoria Serbin '17, who will attend Harvard University in the fall (admit rate 5.2%), was also admitted to Emory University, Rice University, and Duke University. In total, she was offered more than $730,000 in gift aid from admitting institutions.
  • Stephanie Sanchez '17 will attend Fordham University's highly selective B.A. in Theatre Performance program. Only 15% of applicants are admitted to join the 20 student cohort.
  • Valedictorian Emily Stehr '17 was admitted to Dartmouth College. The admit rate for Fall 2017 was 10.4%, the most selective admissions cycle at Dartmouth since 2013. 
  • 12 SJND students will attend a University of California campus (UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Merced).
  • 20 SJND students will attend a California State University campus.
  • 14 SJND students will attend a California private university including Claremont McKenna College, Pitzer College, University of San Francisco, Pepperdine University, and University of San Diego.
  • 14 SJND students will attend an out of state private university including Fordham University, Harvard University, Dartmouth College, The George Washington University, University of Portland, Seton Hall University.
  • 14 SJND students will attend an out of state public university including University of Oregon, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Pittsburgh, and University of Washington. 

The Class of 2017 earned admission to a variety of distinguished public and private colleges and universities. Sixty percent of the class was offered scholarship and grant money to support their post-secondary educational pursuits.
