Cooper Teare '17 Sets Eyes on Track State Championship

Nationally ranked Pilot runner Cooper Teare ’17 continues his road to the State Championship. At the NCS Meet of Champions on Saturday May 28, Cooper had qualified to run the 800,1600, and 3200 but decided to focus on the 3200 from this point forward. He smoked the competition, winning the 3200 meter race with a time of 9:06, 10 seconds faster than the next runnner.

"To win was the main goal," said Cooper, whose best time this season of 8:54.14 ranks third in the state according to "I just came out here to get the job done and qualify (for the State Championships)."

Cooper is now one of the favorites to win the State Championships this Saturday, June 4 in Fresno. Let's cheer on Cooper as he represents SJND!
