Meet Our 2019 Career Day Speakers
SJND was once again thrilled to welcome back former Pilots and parents to our annual Career Day. This year’s speakers spanned a variety of industries including technology, medicine, real estate and more.
Thanks to all of our presenters who spoke to the Class of 2019 about their career paths and imparted wisdom such as important soft skills to master, strategies for college and how to maintain a work life balance.
Harry Arruda ‘88, CEO, Cooke & Associates
Over the past thirty years, Harry Arruda has been working in the corporate security, investigations and executive protection field. Harry is the owner and CEO of Cooke & Associates, Inc (CAI), a leader in global protection and risk mitigation services. CAI’s clients include Fortune 100 companies, leaders in the Hi-Tech industry, venture capital firms, celebrities and athletes.
Previously, Harry served as Director of Security for Intuit, a globally recognized financial organization, where he was responsible for actively protecting corporate personnel, assets and information at multiple campuses around the globe. Since the start of his career, Harry has served foreign presidents, political figures, corporations, sports figures, celebrities and other prominent and at-risk society members.
He is a graduate of Wharton University's Security Executive Program, both the Department of Justice and R.L. Oatman & Associates' Dignitary Protection programs, as well as formal law enforcement training from various federal, state and local agencies.

Jacqueline Belloso ‘13, Project Coordinator, Alameda County Public Health Department | Gameday Entertainment Representative, Oakland Raiders
Jacqueline is a Project Coordinator for Family Health Services' Building Blocks for Health Equity Unit at the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD). At ACPHD, she co-leads a two-phase financial health project for home-visit clients and Alameda County residents. The first phase of this project includes teaching clients and residents about credit/debt management, money management, emergency savings, tax planning, investing, and retirement. The second phase of this project consists of financial navigation and financial resources. She also leads a mini-grant project in which funds are dispersed to community members to help fund community-designed and community-led projects that address community-identified priority areas (safety/violence, education, community building, local economy).
Jacqueline is also a Gameday Entertainment Representative for the Oakland Raiders. Her duties include executing and directing participants for game day presentations, promotions and/or entertainment at Oakland Raiders home games and executing contests and promotions performed during designated timeouts, quarter breaks, and at halftime.
Michael Bertinetti ‘66, Retired Lawyer
Michael graduated from SJND in 1966, the University of San Francisco in 1970 with a degree in History, and finally, from University of California, Berkeley Boalt Law School in 1973. After graduation, he spent a year clerking for Justice John Kerrigan of the State Court of Appeals and also served in the Army. Upon his release from the Army, he worked in a small private law practice in Hayward, after which he spent 38 years as a civil litigator for a medium-sized firm in San Francisco. During those 38 years, he prepared and tried numerous bench and jury cases, arbitrations and other matters. In 2014, he retired and is enjoying retirement life.
John Campbell ‘88, Executive Vice President Investor Relations, Wells Fargo Bank
John Campbell has been with Wells Fargo Bank for over 20 years. In his current role as the Director of the Investor Relations group, John works with Wells Fargo’s existing and potential shareholders, from large Wall Street institutional investors to individual shareholders. Prior to this role, John held positions in Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Accounting.
John has a BS in Accounting from Villanova University and an MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco. He lives in Moraga with his wife, Vickey, and their five children.
Teddy Eusebio ‘09, Owner, Teodoro E. Eusebio DMD
After graduating from Saint Joseph Elementary School in 2005 and Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School in 2009, Teddy attended the University of California, San Diego where he was on the club Tennis Team, managed a student run free dental clinic and served aboard the USMS Mercy Naval Hospital Ship in Cambodia and Vietnam. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in 2013.
Upon graduation Teddy moved to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry to obtain his DDS which he graduated with in 2017. During his time there, he ran on the club Cross Country and Track team, went on a dental student exchange to Brazil and participated in an oral health project in Kenya. From July 2017-2018, he completed his residency at University of Michigan Hospital, treating medically compromised and cognitively impaired patients in emergency rooms, outpatient clinics and operating rooms. As of October 2018, he has been practicing alongside his father in his dental practice in Alameda.
Darryl G. Glover ’84, CEO/Chief Consultant, LumineGroup, Inc
Darryl G. Glover is a highly experienced international business and healthcare professional with a background in operations, marketing, and technology. Besides his experience as a healthcare provider and manager, Darryl has worked internationally in marketing and served as COO and CEO for a European company. He co-founded and served as COO for two tech startups focused on healthcare and general recruiting. Darryl also founded and serves as the CEO of LumineGroup which focuses on healthcare and biopharma consulting and he has published a children’s book through its MagicStar Publishing subsidiary.
Darryl has authored or co-authored 10 publications, has an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific, and a BA in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Lars Nilsson, CEO of SalesSource (father of Thomas ’17 and Sophie ’20)
With almost three decades of sales and operations experience in the technology sector, Lars is a global leader in enterprise software and selling solutions. Lars has the rare distinction and honor of helping take four Bay Area companies to IPO status as a sales leader. He started his career at Xerox and has since led teams at some of Silicon Valley’s most influential companies.
Prior to serving as CEO of SalesSource, Lars was VP of Global Inside Sales for Cloudera, the company that revolutionized enterprise Big Data management. In an incredibly competitive space, he focused on two areas to help make Cloudera the industry leader: High Velocity Inside Sales and Revenue Operations.
Capt. Mark Manes, Harbor Pilot, San Francisco Bar Pilots (father of Heidi ’22)
Mark moved to California in 1991 from upstate New York to attend the California Maritime Academy (Now CSU Maritime) in Vallejo. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation in 1995, after which he worked on dinner cruise boats in Alameda serving as a Captain for Commodore Dining Cruises. Following that he worked shore side at a container terminal in Oakland, working his way up to Marine Manager which supervised the loading and unloading of containers on the ships. In 1997, Mark began working as a deckhand on tugboats in the SF Bay, quickly working his way up to Captain.
In 2010, he entered the CA State training program (after six years of trying) to become a Harbor Pilot in San Francisco. In 2012, he graduated from the training program and became a partner in the San Francisco Bar Pilots where he pilots ships in and out of the Bay. Bar Pilots board the ships 12 miles outside of the Golden Gate Bridge and take the ships everywhere in the Bay, including Sacramento and Stockton, as well as the Port of Monterey for the cruise ships. Mark works seven days on and seven days off.
Kate McCaffrey ‘97, Real Estate Agent, Compass
Kate has been in real estate since she graduated from University California, Santa Barbara in 2002. She started her career in commercial real estate representing retail giants such as Starbucks, Target, as well as shopping center owners and landlords, including Bob & Tom Selleck, while living in Santa Barbara.
In 2005, Kate co-founded McCaffrey Custom Construction, Inc., with her husband JP. Turning her attention towards residential real estate, Kate and JP flipped two homes and sold them in Alameda. This experience inspired Kate to focus her career in residential real estate, which she started practicing in 2009. In 2010, she was the Alameda Association of Realtors “Rookie of the Year” and in 2011 she was the #1 agent in all of 94501. Kate has continued to be the #1 agent in 94501 since 2011 and in all of Alameda every year since 2014. Kate has a passion for helping sellers identify the best ways to improve their home while preparing it for the market. She utilized her construction industry connections to get her clients great prices and quality work.
Her business partner, Amy Loughran, is the #1 buyers agent in Alameda since 2015 and between Kate and Amy, they represent more buyers and sellers in Alameda than any other agents.
Lauren Oyen ‘07, Interior Designer, One Workplace
Lauren graduated from Chico State in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design and received a Masters of Interior Architecture degree in 2015. She has worked for the past 7 years in the design industry and received her Interior Design License in 2019.
In 2016 she relocated to Florida to help renovate the University of Florida's football stadium.
Kristyn Temple-Robinson ‘92, Senior Project Manager, Gap Inc.
Kristyn Temple-Robinson is a proud class of 1992 SJND Pilot. Upon graduation, Kristyn attended San Francisco State University and graduated Cum Laude in 1996 with a B.A. in Broadcast Electronic Communications Arts (BECA). She currently works for Gap Inc. as a Senior Project Manager at the Corporate Headquarters in San Francisco. She has held several domestic and international leadership roles in Corporate Facilities that have spanned 20 years. Notable multi-million dollar projects include construction and build-outs for several Bay Area, New York and New Mexico office locations. Kristyn also serves as a Community Leader for Gap Foundation where she organizes local volunteer events for her team. She is a native of Oakland, CA where she still resides.
Claire Valderama-Wallace ‘98, Assistant Professor, California State University - East Bay
Claire P. Valderama-Wallace’s journey of personal and professional growth has taken place in classrooms, community-based organizations, local health departments, clinical settings, and various policy arenas. After graduating from SJND, her studies focused on physiological sciences, public health, nursing, sociology, and education. Her practice has included breast cancer prevention with the D.C. Department of Health, community health policy and programming at the National Association of County and City Health Officials, hospital settings, and with community-based organizations serving minoritized communities.
She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at CSU East Bay, where she teaches Community Health Nursing, Community Engagement, Evidence-Based Practice, and Epidemiology. Her research interests lie at the intersection of social justice, health, and nursing education. She is dedicated to pursuing health equity as a parent, partner, scientist, educator, activist and life-long learner.
