Parent Ed: Teen Communication, Plus Health Tech Habits
This month, SJND offers parents two opportunities to have their questions answered regarding how to communicate well with their teens and also the issue of how much technology is good for your teen.
On Feb. 11, Dr. Michael Torres, PsyD, returns to SJND to talk about how to better know your teens and communicate with them. He’ll address common mood and anxiety issues, effects of video-gaming on the brain, substance use, bullying and more. The evening, sponsored by the Parents Association, begins at 7 p.m. in Notre Dame Hall.
And, on Feb. 12, the Technology and Counseling Departments is hosting a talk for parents, Technology and the Teenager: Supporting Healthy Habits in the Digital Age. Parents will learn about recent trends in adolescent use of technology and strategies to support parents their children to make the most of available technology. The presentation will begin at 7pm in Notre Dame Hall. Questions about the Parent Education Series should be directed to Dr. White at email@example.com.
