Pilots XC Starts Season Flying High

At the Ed Sias Invitational on September 13, Pilots ran a tough, two-mile, hilly trail course with temperatures in the 80's and over 2000 runners in total. Cooper Teare and some of the varsity men team ran in the FS (frosh soph) division. Cooper won the race with a time of 10:33, one of the fastest times of the day in all divisions. Teammates Willie Mein, Gavin Hill, and Connor Waterloo also ran well in the race.
Leading the team in the men's varsity race was Jackson Sundheim, who placed in the top 20 and was followed closely by Daniel Ratto, Ryan Duarte, Matias Coleman, Jack Keane, Matthew Bacon, and Ben Wiley.
The SJND women had a fantastic day as well, beating all Division 5 teams, three of which are ranked in NCS.  The team was led by Kiera Marshall (12:44), who came in 3rd place overall. Beatrice Levy placed as the fastest freshmen in the race. Veronica Aguila, Karina Duarte, Teresa Killian, Jessica Academia, and Ellie Stuhlreyer ran fine races as well. The Pilot women welcomed Annie McGreehan and Lauren Wallace in their first race ever.
