Prisms Wins Best High School Literary-Art Magazine
The spring 2017 issue of Prisms magazine has been awarded two national awards from the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the National Scholastic Press Association.
Prisms 2017 was selected to receive a rank of Recommended for Highest Award in the 2017 NCTE Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines. Additionally, the publication won First Place with Special Merit and was named Best High School Literary-Art Magazine by the National Scholastic Press Association. This honor places Prisms in the top 500 school magazines in the nation.
Each year, Prisms, a title which is meant to reflect the diversity of the SJND student body through different mediums and genres, offers SJND students the opportunity to publish poetry, prose, visual art and musical scores. New issues are released each spring and overseen by staff advisors Mr. Andrew McKee and Mrs. Colette Gunn-Graffy.
