SJND Announces Hiring of New Principal
It is with great joy we announce that Julianne Guevara has been named principal of Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School. Ms. Guevara served as interim principal of SJND from July 2019 to April 2020.
"The interview committee, which consisted of our diocese’s Superintendent of Schools, Kathleen Radecke, members of the SJND faculty, members of the SJND Board of Trustees, and me, has unanimously decided to offer the position to the current interim principal, Julianne Guevara," Father Mario Rizzo shared with the community on April 23. "I made my recommendation to Bishop Barber that Ms. Guevara be considered for the position of principal. Bishop Barber and Ms. Guevara spoke together, upon which, Bishop Barber readily approved the recommendation," Fr. Mario explained.
The beneficiary of Catholic education herself, from grade school to post-graduate work, Ms. Guevara has devoted her nearly 20 year career in education entirely to Catholic education. Since joining the SJND Family in 2006, Ms. Guevara has served as Women's Basketball Head Coach, Admissions Director, and most recently, Assistant Principal of Student Life.
"Ms. Guevara is passionate about Catholic education, specifically the mission of SJND; it is what brought her to us from St. Ignatius Prep in San Francisco. She prides herself on being a servant- leader, which, in my short time here as Parochial Administrator is something that has been made abundantly clear," Fr. Mario shared. "Ultimately, this means that her most significant concern is the safety, health, and growth of the students placed under her care. For this reason, I am sure I speak for the faculty and staff of SJND when I say that I am excited to partner with Ms. Guevara as the new principal of St. Joseph Notre Dame High School," he added.
Congratulations, Ms. Guevara!
