SJND Donates PPEs to Local Healthcare Workers

In response to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Ms. Zoey Adam and Mr. Andy McKee are leading efforts to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and other equipment to local healthcare workers on behalf of SJND.

Over the last several weeks, Ms. Adam has rounded up supplies from around school - specifically the science department - to donate. So far SJND has already donated over 1,500 gloves, nearly 100 pairs of goggles and safety glasses, eight gallons of hydrogen peroxide, whiteboard markers, lysol wipes and three pediatric masks. Last week, Ms. Adam delivered PPEs to the Berkeley Police Department which will help with effots to move at risk homeless individuals into safer housing, and equip elder-care workers and first responders.

At the same time, Mr. McKee has been hard at work using the SJND IDEA Lab 3D printers to create masks and face shields. To date, he has donated the materials to members of our SJND community, including Mrs. Lewis (mother of Luke Lewis '22), Mr. Fong's wife, who is a CVS pharmacist, and one to Mrs. Rosso, who is a Kaiser labor and delivery nurse. Click here to learn more.
