SJND Men's Basketball Triumphs in Sixth State Championship at Sleep Train Arena

The Pilots are State Champs! Called “the definition of a team” by the media, the SJND men's basketball team clinched the CIF Division V state title in Sacramento on Thursday, March 24. Along with marking SJND’s second Division V state title in three years and third in six years, it was also the 800th career win for our cherished coach Don Lippi. Only eight other coaches in state history have reached 800 career wins.

"Good players make good coaches. Jadé Smith makes us go. Darne Duckett makes us go,” said Coach Lippi.

Darne Duckett ’17 scored 14 points in the first half, Jadé Smith ’17 scored a game-high 21 points, and Adam Campos ’19 and Kobe Kiener ‘19 contributed key points in the final minute to help the Pilots beat St. Bernard.

Thank you to our many Pilot alumni who came out and cheered our young Pilots to the State Championship. Once a Pilot, always a Pilot!
