SJND Ranked #1 Most Diverse Private High School in the San Francisco Bay Area, #3 in the Nation
Niche.com, a school reviews, rankings, and data aggregation website, recently released its 2020 school rankings, naming Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School the #1 Most Diverse Private High School in the San Francisco Bay Area out of 125 schools total. Additionally, SJND was ranked the #2 Most Diverse Private High School in California, and the third most diverse private high school in America (out of 7,203 schools).
“This is something to be proud of and celebrated,” Interim Principal Julie Guevara wrote to parents and students. “Not only is our student body culturally, economically and ethnically diverse, our Pilots come from over a dozen different cities throughout the Bay Area to attend our wonderful school,” she explained.
SJND’s current student body comes from over 40 private, public, Catholic and charter schools throughout the Bay Area. Further, applicants for the SJND Class of 2023 represented over 60 schools.
SJND Alumni often point to their interactions amongst their diverse group of classmates as a powerful component of their education. In fact, growing research on this topic supports that greater socio-economic and racial diversity in the classroom positively impacts all students, including:
