SJND Senior Achieves Highest Score Possible on ACT
Zavier Annis, a senior at Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, is one of only a small percentage of students nationwide to receive a score of 36 out of 36 points possible on the ACT exam, a standardized college admissions exam. According to the ACT organization, less than one percent - 0.2 percent total - of the Class of 2018 earned a score of 36 on the exam.
“I owe all my success to the spectacular English, math, and science teachers at SJND, as well as my teachers at St. Philip Neri. I couldn’t have done it without them,” said Zavier. “Huge thanks to my parents, too, for all the sacrifices they make for me,” he added.
Zavier runs Varsity Track at SJND and is involved with ASB, National Honors Society, and Pep Band, among other clubs. He is also a member of SJND’s unique Biomedical Sciences Program and hopes to one day become a pediatric surgeon
