SJND Softball Wins NCS Championship

SJND Softball wins the 2018 NCS Division IV Championship.

Congratulations to the SJND Softball Team who beat Del Norte (Crescent City) 4-0 on Friday, June 1 at St. Mary's College to become 2018 NCS Division IV Champions.

Caroline Evans '21 scored the first run of the game with a line-drive shot that bounced off the top of the right field fence for a home run.  The defense had a strong performance, led by Tyesen Gordon '18 (third base), Caroline Bridges '19 (second base) and Danielle Pohlson '19 (first base). Evans, a freshman, was a notable force, pitching a no-hitter in her first-ever NCS appearance. Pilots finished the speedy game in an hour and 10 minutes with a score of 4-0. This is the second NCS title for SJND Softball in three years.

The Championship win comes on the heels of a spectacular season, finishing the regular season with a record of 19-2 to become BCL-East Champs.
