SJND Student Art Exhibition at Blue Dot Cafe
The Saint Joseph Notre Dame Visual Arts Department is proud to announce that our Fourth Annual Advanced Art Student Show at the Blue Dot Café will be on display from February through March, 2015.
Everyone is welcome to join us to honor the artists at an Artists' Reception Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
The drawings, paintings, photographs and digital images on display represent selected works from SJND student artists who are members of the SJND National Art Honors Society and Advanced Art: Pre AP, Advanced Art: Senior Portfolio and Advanced Placement Studio Art classes. The show was made possible by the wonderful owners of Blue Dot, James and Megan Hume, SJND's Advanced Art teacher Mr. Mark Ritter and Digital Arts teacher Mr. Andy McKee, both of whom sponsor the school's National Art Honor Society.
The exhibition is the culmination of many hours of collaborative work to cut mats, make labels, hang artwork and design publications for this exciting event. The students have beautifully executed both their artistic contributions to the show and all of the preparations for hanging the artworks themselves (preparing them for doubtless bright futures and exhibitioins in their futures).
Once again, we at SJND are most grateful to James and Megan Hume, the owners of this popular neighborhood café and gallery, for providing us with this excellent space to share the fruits of our creative efforts with the broader community. Please visit the show and enjoy a tasty snack or beverage.
Due to the popularity and success of last year's exhibition, the Humes invited us to display artwork during March as well. Starting March 4 through March 31, the show will be expanded to show works that represent all levels of the visual arts program, including selected works from school faculty and staff.
