SJND Students Receive Letters of Commendation from National Merit Scholarship Program
Congratulations to Liam Johnson-Sandoval ’19, Richard Reid ’19 and Julia Verdickt ’19 on receiving Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.
Each year, over 1.6 million students in the U.S. elect to take the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) for entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program. Some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT Selection Index scores are entered in to the Program.
While the SJND students will not advance in the competition for National Merit® Scholarships, they are three of only 34,000 students nationwide awarded Commended status for their high test scores. Commended students can also become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
Please join us in congratulating Liam, Richard and Julia!
