Keyonna Smith '11
"The advice I'd give to high school students about college is to start their college search early and don't rule schools out too soon," said Keyonna, a junior at Santa Clara University. "You never know which school you'll fall in love with. Oh, and learn to do laundry before you leave; there are so many people who don't know how to do laundry."
As a top student at SJND, Keyonna Smith was well-known as an officer in honor societies and clubs, as well as manager of the championship women’s basketball team.
Now, in college, Keyonna continues her aspirations, as a member of the Dean's Leadership Program, a program at Santa Clara for high achieving business school students.
She’s also manager of the men’s basketball team and is a marketing intern for the Athletics Department. As a member of Igwebuike, the Black Student Union on campus, she is part of the promotions team that hosts events. She is social media director for Santa Clara Her Campus, a guide to college life, and also has an internship with with Deja 34 Records, a recording company based in Atlanta.
