The Freshman Experience

Academic: As a freshman, you will be placed in core courses based on incoming grades and tests, and choose your own arts and language classes. Through intensive skills sessions in year one, you will identify your learning style and learn key strategies for effective test taking, studying and time management.

Campus Life: LinkCrew (an orientation program led by upper level students) introduces all new students to the SJND experience. A spiritual retreat reinforces the value of team building through service to the community. You will have a dedicated academic counselor who will serve as an ally throughout your first year at SJND. You will build relationships with faculty, administrators, and peers to enhance your learning, build your community, and succeed in college and life.

Schedule your Shadow Visit! Attend classes with an SJND student. Sign up by calling the Admissions Office at 510-995-9458. If you have any questions about the admissions process, feel free to contact Eileen Graybeal, Director of Admissions.
